We
were met at the arrival gate by the Royal Brunei Staff who went
through hell to try to get us through the immigration gates ...
Jim always good at confusing people successfully convinced the ground
staff in Brunei that it was their resonsibility to sort this immigration
problem out as they sold us (an e-ticket) a oneway ticket into Indonesia.
The staff, back then refused to check us in saying that the immigration
services would refuse entry to travellers without an onward ticket
and would fine the carrier as well.
Anyway, we got out of the plane, met with a guy from the airline,
paid our visa on arrival and had a little discussion with the immigration
officers. Our guy was waving some printed paper saying it was the
confirmation for a reservation ... of our return flight ..... we
did our best to look convinced and outraged by the delay and eventually
got through ....
